The black Moa Chick
Hi GWG,
I am currently on my own little quest. I shall try to get the Black Moa Chick (the miniature). But as it seems, you kinda have to be luxon to get the inubator kit. Is there anyway to get it, without turning into luxon (by that I mean spending alot of time getting 10.000 luxon points and then do quests and missions untill you get to Gyala Hatchery? =) |

You must do both the Luxon and Kurzick parts to complete it. The incubator kit requires you to have completed Gyala Hatchery, but 'hardening' the egg requires you to have completed Eternal Grove. Do the quests available to gain 90% of the faction you need, and then do some JW, FA, or get a guest invite for some AB.
You don't actually have to join a Luxon guild or anything, you just need 10k Luxon Faction for the Befriending quest, and do the appropriate quests/missions to get to the location. |

No. The incubator is customized to the character that has it crafted, so it can't be traded. The only way to get it is to follow the Luxon storyline quests and missions until you reach Leviathan Pits. Or, if you want the easy way (not that it's hard to get 10k Luxon faction), just farm up some cash and buy a Black Moa Chick.
Edit: I've always found it easy to get the 10k faction without doing any JQ, FA, or AB. Just make sure you're always killing under Luxon blessing, and take all side quests, including Mapping the Jade Sea. Last edited by BrettM; Apr 22, 2009 at 01:13 PM // 13:13.. |

If you're going for protector, guardian, vanquisher, cartographer or skill hunter you'll want to be going through this area anyways. It's hardly off the beaten track..

The idea behind it is a scavenger hunt across the campaigns - in other words getting players to visit places they may not normally want to visit etc.And after all the effort you manage to hatch a lil moa chick which u`ll probabably sell a few days/weeks later.
Also if you have already gone thru kurz/lux areas you only need to have a higher faction for that area`s npc - eg if u done both befriending quests and donated , you can kill say 1 foe for kurz rep and be able to speak to kurz npc. So rep would be say lux zero but 1 point in kurz - as long as the npc`s faction group has higher points on you thats what matters. |

With regards to getting 10k Luxon faction while you're Kurzick, I agree with others who've said it's not too hard. Especially now with the faction from hunting bounties, it stacks up fast. Also, since the faction is account-wide, you might want to take all your PvE characters through "Befriending the Luxons" at the same time. Rack up 10k on the account, and complete the quest for all your characters at once - then never have to worry about it again. One of the reasons I have a PvE character of each primary profession was that $%#^&#$% quest. After grinding 10k Luxon faction for about the third time, I decided it was better to grind one of each remaining profession through the first half of Factions than risk having to gather faction again later. Best of luck with your chick! That was one of the coolest things GW has done in a long time if you ask me. The scavenger hunt concept was a blast. I had great fun hatching my Onyx Jr. And I wouldn't sell him for all the tea in China! Cheers, Luny |

There are still four things, one in each campaign and the expansion, that each character has to do for himself. Earn Zho's Journal (EotN), obtain the incubator (Factions), obtain the nesting material (Nightfall), and take the incubator to Sorrow's Furnace (Prophecies). That obviously ensures that someone can never complete the quest without owning all the games. You also need to play a substantial portion of each campaign to reach those areas, which ensures that nobody is going to flood the market with BMCs by quickly re-rolling characters and doing the quest. |
